MCP Integration¶
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external tools and data sources. AIVA supports MCP in two directions: you can bring external tools into AIVA, and you can use AIVA's tools in other AI agents.
Two Ways to Use MCP¶
Add MCP Servers to AIVA¶
Connect external tool servers to AIVA Chat, giving the AI assistant access to your institutional databases, custom pipelines, or third-party APIs alongside its built-in tools.
Use AIVA MCP in Other Agents¶
Connect AIVA's genomic analysis tools to MCP-compatible AI agents such as Claude Desktop, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and more.
